First Test of Grassroots Urban Tour in Italy

Great news! One of the incubated entrepreneurial initiatives of the Italian participants in Grassroots Eco-Health Tourism path is ready to be tested!

Date: May 8, 2024

Meeting point: Ex Bar That’s Amore https://maps.app.goo.gl/FQQqfP9hEJihuH568

City: Matera, Southern Italy

Programme:

This will be an interactive tour in Serra Venerdì, one of the first 3 neighbourhoods of Matera that was planned and built in the 50ies to welcome the population of the Sassi (historical center with houses carved in stone), which the government of Italy forcefully relocated to areas of the developing modern city.

This tour will include quizzes and games. It will cross key architectural and socio-cultural points of interest of the neighbourhood.

It will be hosted on Italian Mother’s Day. On the same day, as every Wednesday morning, there will also be the neighbourhgood’s market in Serra Venerdì, to add some verve to the tour. The greenery of the neighbourhood will rejuvenate participants, who will also have a chance to network and socialise.

Special guests:

Great Women from UISP Matera will be the beta testers of this tour and will provide precious feedback for us to improve!
